10 Comic Book Movie Scenes That Totally Dominated Their Films
5. Blood Rave - Blade (1998)
Just a year after the high-camp of Batman and Robin had come dangerously close to killing the genre entirely, Stephen Norrington's frenetic B-movie showed that the comic book movie could still deliver dangerously high amounts of bad-assery. Blade does suffer from ropey CGI and more than a few narrative problems, but the introduction of the titular Daywalker remains one of the most iconic scenes in the history of comic book movies. Set to a pulsing techno soundtrack, the scene both introduces the protagonist and establishes the premise that vampires are very real, enjoy electronic music, and just so happen to live amongst us. After a slow tilting shot reveals Wesley Snipes in all his leather-bound glory, Blade goes on the rampage and cuts a swathe through dozens of bloodsuckers, showcasing his nifty martial arts skills in the process. This scene set an impossibly high bar that the rest of the movie fails to reach, and it remains the best scene in the entire Blade trilogy.
