10 Comic Book Movies That Could Be The Next Avengers: Infinity War

1. The Mangog Saga

For all intents and purposes, yes, Thor: Ragnarok heralded the end of Asgard. Norse Mythology's most notorious doomsday event has now been chronicled and the Asgardian people, presumably split straight down the middle by Thanos in Infinity War, have been left in dire circumstances.

Believe it or not, Ragnarok isn't the worst things have gotten in the comics. A being called Mangog, who's yet to really be referenced in the MCU, is much, much worse. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Mangog is up there with the worst of the worst of the Marvel Universe, and has only just returned after an extended hiatus in the current Mighty Thor series.

Of all the Phase 1 franchises, Thor looks like the one most deserving of a fourth entry, and while the prophesied doomsday scenario has somewhat been done to death already, Mangog is a villain worth adapting for the big screen. He possesses the power of a billion, billion beings, and with a snarling look that belongs in the Simpsons' fabled 'Big Book of British Smiles', Mangog is most certainly not to be trifled with.

It's unlikely that he'd bring together the Avengers in a way that Thor's brother did, but Mangog could serve as a great villain for the concluding chapter of the Thor series, realising Jack Kirby's vision in a way Ragnarok came tantalisingly close to doing.
