10 Comic Book Movies That Don't Deserve To Be Rotten On Rotten Tomatoes

9. Tank Girl (1995)

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 34% Without question one of the strangest films of the '90s, Tank Girl - which stars Lori Petty as the titular character, a rebel who fights against an evil corporation called "Water & Power" in a post-apocalyptic 2033 - was met with a endless slew of negative reviews upon its original release, most of which deemed it to be bloody awful in every regard. But time has allowed Tank Girl, based on the obscure comic by Alan Martin and Jamie Hewlett, to emerge as a huge cult entity, and nowadays it is regarded as a feminist parable way ahead of its time. Sure, it's frequently all over the place, but it still stands as a worthy adaptation of its crazy source material. It's hard not to admire Tank Girl for its sheer audacity alone. It's an attack on the senses in the best possible way: director Rachel Talalay delivers a picture that plays like a pop music video on loop, almost in the same way that Zack Snyder's underrated Sucker Punch did back in 2011. It also features Ice Cube as an anthropomorphic rabbit-man (seriously), not to mention a killer soundtrack to boot - what else do you need? An acquired taste of sorts, sure, but "rotten"? That's one thing this demented flick isn't.
