5. Daredevil
We don't need to speculate that Daredevil would have been better as an R-rated movie, given that the Director's Cut of the movie
is rated R, reconstituting around half an hour's worth of sub-plots back into the film - notably one which has Coolio playing a drug addict - and upping the violence, to the praise of even those who despised the original cut. Still, the salient point is that the theatrical cut is what 99% of people will count as their experience of Daredevil, and as a result, the PG-13 treatment really isn't good enough. If the R-rated cut still has persistent issues - namely that Ben Affleck is horrendously miscast - many were intrigued when Fox moved to cobble together a reboot, with many pitches from directors such as Joe Carnahan positioning the movie as a hardcore, R-rated thriller. Fox, ever the smart decision makers, eventually passed on these pitches, however, and the rights reverted back to Marvel Studios and Disney. Given that this could result in Daredevil potentially showing up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe eventually, don't count on an R-rated Daredevil in the foreseeable future.
