2. Sacking The Director - Superman II

Director Richard Donner had already completed around three quarters of Superman II when he was unceremoniously fired from the production due to clashes with producers and replaced by Richard Lester. As Lester had to shoot at least 51% of the film in order to be credited as its director, many scenes had to be reshot which was complicated by many members of the cast and crew who disagreed with the decision to fire Donner refusing to return to the set out of loyalty. The Results: Though the film was a box office hit, many fans felt the sequel was far inferior to its Donner directed predecessor and that Lester€™s extensive reshoots and revised vision gave it a slapstick feel, but thankfully Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut was released in 2006 featuring a restructured opening and several deleted scenes from his original production.
