10 Comics You Must Read Before Spider-Man: Far From Home

7. The Conversation

Spider Man Far From Home Comics
Marvel Comics

One of the most long-standing relationships in Spider-Man's life, more than Gwen Stacy, Mary-Jane Watson and Black Cat, has always been the one shared by Peter and Aunt May. The ever-jovial, stubborn and kind-hearted May Parker has been just as crucial to the various incarnations of Spider-Man as any amount of web shooters, radioactive spider bites or murdered Uncles.

Spider-Man: Homecoming teased one of the most unique aspects of the MCU's Spider-Man compared to his two prior big-screen adaptations in a humorous reveal that Aunt May will be aware of her nephew's crime-fighting alter-ego in Far From Home and beyond.

This is a fresh twist in the relationship between Peter and May yet to be seen on the screen, previously being only implied in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. However, it is a take on their dynamic that has been explored across many universes and stories in the world of Marvel's comics, beginning with The Conversation.

May insists her Nephew has a conversation with her, revealing she has found Peter's battle-damaged Spider-Man costume. What follows is an issue-long conversation wherein May and Peter speak frankly about their worries and fears about the red-and-blue elephant in the room, ending on an emotional note of acceptance and pride on the part of May.
