10 Most Controversial Comic Book Movie Moments

10. Dancing Spidey

Spider-Man 3 had a lot riding against it from the get-go, having to follow in the shoes of Spider-Man 2, which is not only the best of the trilogy, but widely considered to be one of the best superhero movies around. Sam Raimi completed his trilogy with Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco, and newcomers Topher Grace and Thomas Haden Church as Venom and Sandman, respectively. The film was hindered by increased studio involvement and the reluctance of Sam Raimi to use Venom in the film, which all contributed to produce the worst of the trilogy. Of course, the most controversial moment in the film is the ridiculous dance routine performed by Peter Parker. This routine comes about because of the Venom symbiote's influence on our hero, which apparently results in awkward jazz hands and secret identity spoiling acrobatics. What was supposed to be the emotional crux of the film that saw Peter deal with the empathetic nature of the symbiote turned into a foolish musical interlude that was completely out of character for even emo-Parker, and compiled everything major that was wrong with the film in one scene.
