10 Controversial Theories That Improve Films

4. Bond, James Bond... The New One...

This is the theory that first came to mind when mulling over what to include when I was given the task of putting together this list. It is a fun theory that if true would just make the world absolutely amazing. Sadly this potential amazing-ness also means that it has a lot of holes. But that's Sod's Law for you. We all know that 007 is the code name for James Bond. But what if James Bond is also a code name? It would explain why he is always freely giving his name to his enemies. More importantly it would explain why he is always changing in appearance and personality and has managed to continue living and working through the decades. Whenever an agent retires/dies a new agent takes up his mantle. The title is reserved for the best agents. The title means that you BECOME Bond. It would not be just a code name but a new life, as long as you are Bond you are an agent. The name is used as a means to create a legend. The name gains notoriety and will, much like the franchise itself, continue to live on in a new man. It matters not whether the agent dies because a new agent can be used to continue the name and the legend. It's a nice idea. This was clearly never the intention of any filmmakers as there are far too many inconsistencies, such as characters repeatedly alluding to Bonds dead wife from On Her Majesty€™s Secret Service. Also after going rouge from MI6 in License to Kill Daltons' Bond retains the name. Although speaking of filmmakers intent there was the idea of including the Sean Connery Bond alongside Pierce Brosnan and therefore the theory in Die Another Day. Yep. That could have happened.

Hey. My name is Addison. And I am a Film Addict. My addiction began when I was a young lad, but it was controllable... For a while. As I entered teendom, my condition worsened. Slowly all my shelves began to fill with DVD cases. I hadn't even watched them all. I still haven't.
