The Easter Egg: The 2002 remake of The Ring centres around a cursed video tape, viewers of which will die within seven days of watching it.

And now, you yourself can check this tape out - if you feel like testing out those steel nuggets of yours.

This was initially included as an easter egg on DVD/Blu-Ray copies of the film, before landing on YouTube.

Note: WhatCulture is not responsible for any deaths that may occur after watching the above clip. Enjoy!

How To Find It: Blu-Ray users can head to the extras menu and highlight "Don't Watch This". Then, press the left button on your remote until nothing is highlighted. When this happens, hit enter to watch the video.

DVD users (region-dependent) can try heading to the main menu. With the red arrow next to "Play Movie", hit up on your remote and the arrow should disappear. Now you can push enter to watch the video.

Your remote will be locked until the clip has finished - so there's no going back - but even more scary is the fact that a phone will ring after it has finished playing. Spooky.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
