10 Cool Easter Eggs You Didn’t Know Were Hidden On DVD & Blu-Ray

8. The Jokerized Version - The Dark Knight

The Easter Egg: The Dark Knight is famous for its marketing campaign, which, at the time, was one of the most extensive in existence.

A big part of the campaign was the use of Heath Ledger's Joker, and iconography associated with the character.

Joker cards were hidden in comic-book stores. An "I Believe In Harvey Dent" website was defaced with the Joker's signature red smile and dark eyes. The marketing team even 'Jokerized' several one-dollar bills by scrawling over the image of George Washington at their centre.

This continued for the film's home-media release, which featured a special version of the film's third theatrical trailer.

The trailer plays as normal, but it's also been 'Jokerized', with graffiti, text and scrawled drawings appearing over the top.

How To Find It: Pop in Disc 2 of your Blu-Ray and make your way to the 'Trailers And More' section. Click on 'Trailer 3'. When the trailer starts playing, enter these numbers in this order (slowly), using your keypad: 5, 6, 5, 3, 7.

The trailer will restart and the alternate version will play.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
