10 Cool Easter Eggs You Didn’t Know Were Hidden On DVD & Blu-Ray

6. Watch It Backwards - Memento

The Easter Egg: Memento's story is told in a nonlinear fashion. The scenes that are in full colour appear in reverse-chronological order, while the scenes that are in black-and-white are in chronological order, with these two timelines 'meeting' at the end of the film.

It's a movie that warrants repeat viewings for this reason alone, since it could be potentially confusing after the first time. But what if there was a way to watch the entire movie in chronological order?

Fortunately, there is!

A hidden feature on Memento's disc will allow you to view it in this way, making it an interesting easter egg for people who wish to revisit the movie.

How To Find It: There are different ways depending on which version you have. On the DVD, head to the Special Features, and keep an eye out for 'Memento Mori' as it appears, then begins to fade away. Then, after the polaroid fades, hit enter, and that should do the trick.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
