10 Cool Road Movies With Awesome Creativity

1. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - edited for article At first this entry may not seem like a full fledged road movie but it bears all of the classic traits of the genre. The Man With No Name and Tuco set out, while being hunted by Angel Eyes, to cross the desert and the battlefields of the Civil War to retrieve $200,000 from a soldier's grave. In their journey they double cross each other, share personal moments and learn new things about one other. The narrative is also dedicated to travel in the beginning when they are going from town to town and collecting the bounty on Tuco. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is one of the greatest movies ever made and features some of the best direction of all time by Sergio Leone. His use of wide shots that cut to stark close ups is a stylistic trademark that allows his film to feel both intimate and epic at the same time. The third act of the film is one of the most rewarding in cinematic history since the audience is finally given the final confrontation between the three main characters after three genius hours of storytelling. Thanks so much for reading and I'd love to hear your favorite road movies in the comments.

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
