10 Cool Scenes Cut From Tim Burton's Batman Movies
1. Bat Trance - Batman
Michael Keaton describes himself as a “logic freak”, who needs to know how and why a character is doing what they do. This leads him to the logical choice of adopting a different voice for Wayne and Batman – since people might wonder why Batman sounds an awful lot like Bruce – and to propose a “trance” scene for the character.
He wanted to see the moment Bruce actually turns into Batman, so he suggested to Burton they film a scene where he mentally prepares himself. They shot this “Bat Trance” moment, and while it wasn’t used in the final edit Keaton considers it crucial to his development of the role.
It was probably a quick moment before he slides on the costume, but it would have been fascinating to see the switch between the two characters depicted on screen.
