10 Craziest Harry Potter Fan Theories

We’ve already had a Mary Poppins-Harry Potter crossover, but why stop there? Anything is possible in the weird and wonderful world of fan theories and this one links in another much-loved fictional character – none other than Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka.

Devastated by the death of his twin brother, George Weasley decides to leave the wizarding world and uses a Time-Turner to travel back in time to start over as Dahl’s twinkly-eyed, eccentric chocolatier using the entrepreneurial skills and magical candy-making knowledge he gained setting up the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes shop with Fred.

This theory, of course, goes a long way to explain the more magical elements of Willy Wonka’s various sweet treats and wondrously inventive chocolate factory. Need more proof? Both Weasley and Wonka (or at least the movie version of Willy Wonka played by Gene Wilder) are ginger. Coincidence? Can’t be.
