8. Dolph Lundgren Nearly Killed Stallone Filming Rocky IV
It sounds like a good story exaggerated to promote the movie, but the rumour that Dolph Lundgren almost killed Sylvester Stallone shooting Rocky IV is completely true. Stallone - who also directed the movie - made the mistake of suggesting to Lundgren that they fight for real in some shots, to give the movie some gritty reality.
Muscle mountain Lundgren agreed to the idea, which quickly went wrong when he gave Stallone a powerful punch to the breastbone. The blow caused his heart to swell to three times the size so he was quickly rushed to the emergency room.
He then spent over a week in the intensive care unit. He re-thought the whole realism aspect for the rest of the movie, with the remaining fight scenes being faked.
