10 Craziest Reasons Actors Were Rejected For Movie Roles

4. Eddie Redmayne Can't Channel The Dark Side - The Force Awakens

Even Academy Award winning thespians can struggle to conjure up the qualities needed to secure an ominous role in one of the biggest franchises in filmmaking history, proving that some actors just aren't built to channel the Dark Side.

This was depressingly the case for Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne when it came time to audition for a spot in the Sequel Trilogy of Disney Star Wars flicks. When reading for the role of Kylo Ren in what would later become The Force Awakens, the Brit has admitted that he did his best Darth Vader "koohh paaaah" voice during the audition. However, it soon became apparent that his failed attempts at being menacing weren't doing it for casting director Nina Gold.

In what must've been a deeply soul-crushing exchange, Gold would then ask the superstar performer after around ten takes, "You got anything else?' He did not and quickly wandered out of the room with his anything but Force-sensitive tail between his legs.

Not everyone is cut out to be bad, as evidenced in Redmayne's jarring, moustache-twiddling work in 2015's Jupiter Ascending, too.
