10 Craziest Things That Have Happened Since Disney Bought Star Wars

9. Scrapping George Lucas' Treatments

After paying $4 billion for Lucasfilm, Disney were free to do whatever they pleased with the Star Wars franchise. However, George Lucas' treatments being used for the new trilogy was mentioned early on and did appear to be part of the overall deal. Well, apparently not. Though Disney CEO Bob Iger has been quoted as saying that he thought they "had a lot of potential", Lucas confirmed in a recent interview that the studio decided to scrap his plans. This was a ballsy move on the part of Disney, and one which would have likely infuriated Star Wars fans had Lucas never made the Star Wars prequels. It does feel strange in some ways to think that the trilogy will be made up of entirely new stories that have nothing to do with the vision of the man who created these characters, but it's a relief too. Still, if Star Wars: The Force Awakens bombs, fans will have to blame Disney and not Lucas!
