10 Craziest Things That Have Happened Since Disney Bought Star Wars
6. Shutting Down LucasArts
Disney has done a lot of good things for Star Wars since buying Lucasfilm, but one of the biggest blows to fans came in early 2013 when the House of Mouse decided to close down LucasArts. They laid off all staff and cancelled any and all current projects, bringing a swift end to the highly anticipated Star Wars: First Assault and Star Wars 1313. The latter would have focused on Boba Fett, and images released were impressive to say the least. It was a business decision ultimately, and despite the work done on Star Wars 1313, it's remained dead (more than likely because Disney has their own plans for Fett in an upcoming spinoff). A new Star Wars: Battlefront is on the way, but LucasArts now exists only as a name which will be used to license upcoming console releases. In the long run, perhaps it won't impact fans that much, but it was still an unexpected and shocking decision by Disney.
