10 Craziest Things That Have Happened Since Disney Bought Star Wars

5. A New Animated Series

Star Wars: The Clone Wars was beloved by its fans, but it was clear as soon as Disney scooped up Lucasfilm that the Cartoon Network series' days were numbered. In fact, it didn't take at all long for Disney to make its cancellation official, with them stating that they instead wanted to focus on the original trilogy and new movies. The unaired season six reached Netflix, but many still feel The Clone Wars never got the send off it deserved. As if their decision to cancel that series wasn't a big enough shock, Disney would soon surprise fans with the announcement of a new series set between the events of the prequels and original trilogy. Star Wars Rebels has been very well received so far, and it has introduced new characters to the canon and possibly even dropped some hints about what's to come in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The Clone Wars is still missed though.
