10 Crazy Directors Who Went Completely Over The Top

1. Tetsuo The Ironman - Shinyu Tsukamoto

tetsuo-the-iron-man For the number one position on this list I chose a movie that just doesn't care about you or your preconceived notions of what a movie is. Shinyu Tsukamoto doesn't care if you like his completely insane plot free movie. He only wants to blow your mind apart with cinematic insanity. If any one film could be considered completely over the top it's this...thing captured on film. Tetsuo The Ironman is about as close as anyone could expect to capturing a deranged person's imagination straight to film. Basically a man turns into a gruesome cyber punk nightmare to unleash havoc and copious destruction upon the world. The film is just pure confusion from beginning to end. Many of the nightmare fueled shenanigans are filmed in high-speed stop motion which only heightens the bizarre experience. The last 20 minutes of the film is two giant hunks of metal with screaming faces fighting each other to the death. For what reason? Who knows? One scene in this film which has always stuck in mind involves Tetsuo growing an intimate drill that does very disturbing things to his wife. Tetsuo The Ironman is a pure slice of abstract dementia not likely to be out done. It is a master work of an over the top and out of control director working at the fringes of insanity.
