8. Jabba The Hutt Was Pretty Strict With His Staff

This particular rule only applied to one character in the entire Star Wars universe, and if they didn't adhere to it, the consequences would be deadly.

Jabba the Hutt's Palace was a den of deviancy, debauchery, and decadence. When the giant space-slug wasn't running his criminal empire, he was surrounded by every distraction a giant space-slug could need. He had the Max Rebo Band slapping out the funky space jams, Twi'lek dancers to feast his eyes on, and a certain little monkey-lizard to make him laugh.

The crazed-creature, Salacious B. Crumb, was notable in the Return of the Jedi (1983) for his maniacal laugh and high pitched mutterings, as he sat nestled within the folds of Jabba's fat.

Crumb was given the job of Jabba's jester, and as such was allowed all the comforts he could want. Sounds like a pretty sweet gig. Well not really, Crumb had previously been found as a stow away on one of Jabba's barges. Instead of punishing Crumb, Jabba allowed him to live on, provided he made him laugh once-a-day-everyday. If not, he'd be killed.
