10 Crazy Movie Sequels That (Thankfully) Never Happened

1. Jurassic Park IV Was Almost About An Insane Scientist Creating Dino-Man Hybrids

INDIANA JONES MONKEY KING

Before Jurassic World was put into production, "Jurassic Park IV" was in development for a long, long time. Tons of ideas were thrown about with regards to a potential story for the film, but the most interesting is without a doubt the one that saw a mad scientist creating mutant dinosaur hybrids from the confines of a medieval castle in the Alps.

Basically, Jurassic Park meets The Island of Doctor Moreau.

The story would have concerned an ex-military guy named Nick Harris, who is hired by John Hammond to break into Isla Nubla and locate the shaving foam canister that Dennis Nedry dropped in the original film. So far, so good.

In the process, however, Harris is captured by the Grendel Company (who now own the island) and is taken off to Switzerland to a secret fortress where a mad scientist is creating dinosaur-men hybrids - terrifying creatures capable of using weapons and tactics. Harris is then asked to train said group of dinosaurs.

For some reason, Steven Spielberg didn't like this idea and decided to put Jurassic Park IV on hold - eventually the project morphed into Jurassic World, but some of the elements were retained (like the ex-military guy hero and the fact that he "trains" dinosaurs). Bad as this would've almost definitely would have been, I cannot contain my curiosity; I wish we'd got Jurassic Moreau over Jurassic World.
