5. The Prophecy Of The Chosen One Is Sith In Origin

Consult the lore and it quickly becomes apparent that no one truly knows where the prophecy of the Chosen One comes from. Some claim it was spoken by ancient Jedi, while some point to ancient scholars. It is certainly vague enough, and it is that lack of clarity – and its tragic consequences – that suggest it was written by the Sith.

You need only look at the consequences. Qui-Gon Jinn’s belief in the prophecy leads him to adopt an emotionally conflicted Anakin as his Padawan, which in turn leads leads to friction between him and the Council, which in turn leads to friction between him and Obi-Wan, which in time leads to Obi-Wan’s insistence – against Yoda’s better judgement – that Anakin be trained. The rest is history: the prophecy goes to Anakin’s head, leading to friction with the Jedi, leading to resentment and ultimately, the Dark Side.

Cleverly, as per the theory, any Jedi, of any era, is susceptible. All that is needed is for one Jedi to grow arrogant, proclaim themselves the Chosen One, and the seeds of conflict are sown. Yoda, it seems, was right to be worried.
