With her blonde pigtails and immaculate dress, young Rhoda Penmark (played by Patty McCormack) seems to represent the image of a perfect little girl. She is extremely polite and she is a perfectionist concerning everything that she does. However, things take an extremely dark turn when she begins a murder spree that would make Mallory from Natural Born Killers proud. Rhoda manages to keep up her innocent little girl facade for most of the films duration. Whenever we do see her vicious, sly and devious true self, it is truly shocking. Most of what Rhoda does is off screen which makes the proceedings all the more creepier as we can only guess how she truly dispatched her victims. She's also amazingly resilient. Even her mother trying to kill her off with sleeping pills doesn't work. It actually takes the hand of the almighty god himself to strike her with a bolt of lighting to finally take this kid out. Rhoda truly is the bad seed; a pint-sized terror of biblical proportions.
