Hellraiser is awesome. It's one of the few horror flicks of the 80s that still holds up. The issue though is that all the notoriety goes to the film's main antagonist, Pinhead. Make no mistake about it, Pinhead is creepy. All of the Cenobites are, really; any extra-dimensional creatures who mutilate themselves and others for the purpose of extreme sexual pleasure are, by their very nature, pretty damn unsettling. Pinhead is the leader of this well-dressed band of pleasure seekers, but the flat-out creepiest of the bunch is Chatterer. Like all Cenobites, Chatterer has no recollection of his former human life. As a member of Pinhead's brigade, Chatterer serves as the group's enforcer. He physically attacks and restrains victims so that they can either by torn apart or turned into a Cenobite. Chatterer is also a well-earned nickname. His lips are pulled back from his mouth by the world's most unpopular dental device and his only form of communication is rhythmically clicking his teeth together. The creepiest thing about him? He was just a young boy when he was transformed into this tooth-clacking abomination. What the hell kind of kid was he anyway? Likely the kind who would play with a demonic box in hopes of entering a hellish realm and being transformed into a sado-masochistic flesh cutter.
