10 Creepy Similarities Between Nolan And Burton’s Batman Movies

6. Catwoman Loves Masked Parties

They say it takes one to know one, which either isn€™t true for masked vigilantes or it makes Selina Kyle pretty slow on the uptake. In both of her big screen versions she gets close to both Bruce Wayne and Batman independently without ever seeing the join. That€™s classic Catwoman. What isn€™t as ingrained in the character€™s history is her love of masquerade balls €“ that€™s an entirely cinematic creation, which, oddly, provides the background for an integral scene in both Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway€™s arc. Coming well into Batman Returns, the masked ball in question is Max Shreck€™s Christmas do and provides an opportunity for Wayne and Kyle to realise the others' alter ego. The Dark Knight Rises' related scene come much earlier (although the character is at a similar level of confidence) with both the danger and sexual tension reduced, but the verbal dance between the characters is identical; you have Kyle most certainly on top, with her allure and knowledge keeping the still impressively smug and surefooted Wayne always a step behind. Throw in the setting - expansive room, yellow hues - and the conversation before, which discussed the morals of the rich, and it just gets creepy.
