8. Tyler Perry
The hatred that Tyler Perry receives mostly stems from that fact that his movies have a certain built-in audience, and most of the people who complain about him just aren't a part of that audience. Sort of along the lines of Kevin Smith or David Lynch. If you aren't fans of their work, you might not appreciate their films as much. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not comparing Perry to those directors in terms of quality, of course. But the truth is, the people who like his films are the ones that pay money to see his new ones. And judging by how prolific he is as a director, as well as his box office numbers, his built in audience is pretty big. And that's another reason he gets hate that I actually think he should get credit for: The fact that he
is prolific. Perry's a hard working man, and I think we should have a little respect for that.
