5. Eli Roth
Eli Roth's case is one where he gets tons of hatred, and I really don't understand why. The guy has only made a handful of movies. But I think it's much more in the same vein as Tyler Perry: The people who hate him just aren't his audience. Of the movies he's done, the most popular ones are the Hostel films. Roth gets flack because these movies are extremely violent "torture porn" movies. But "torture porn" movies already have an audience thanks to the Saw franchise, so why is he the one that gets the most crap? Because his movies feature dumb young people with no personalities that are tortured and hacked up in creative ways? Isn't that what most horror movies nowadays are? It's just a tad unfair, as far as I'm concerned. And I liked Cabin Fever. Perhaps I'm a bit biased, but still...
