2. Game of Death
Bruce Lee was desperate to educate the world about his own martial art and life philosophy, Jeet Kune Do, figuring quite rightly that the best way to do so was to make a film in which he beats everyone in sight to a pulp. With Kareem Abdul-Jabbar pencilled in for a supporting role as a baddie, it sounded like a perverse hit. What could have gone wrong? Mid-way through production, Lee was enticed by a gigantic budget to go to America and make Enter the Dragon, and not long after, he died from a cerebral edema. Robert Clouse, who also directed Enter the Dragon, was called upon to take over Lee's directing duties and try to salvage the picture. Forced to use awkward stunt doubles, tricky editing, and even some clips from Lee's actual funeral, the end product was a mess, running in at just under 40 minutes, if at least providing Lee fans with a slight - if butchered - insight into what the tone and style of the film might have been.
