10 Dark Moments In Disney Animated Films
1. Clayton's Demise - Tarzan (1999)
Clayton was a one-note villain, without a doubt. He was only really motivated by the prospect of hunting gorillas for sport and reaping the monetary gain from it.
But it's undeniable that his exit from the movie was very disturbing, and the only one of its kind at present.
In the final fight scene between him and Tarzan, after he kills Kerchak, Clayton becomes entangled in the vines, slashing at them wildly with his machete in a bid to free himself, vines slowly coiling around his neck in the process. He accidentally cuts the vine supporting his weight, and he falls a considerable distance before the vine around his neck stops, immediately breaking the hunter's neck, and hanging him.
What is really unsettling in this scene is that when the lightning flashes, you can see his lifeless corpse dangling there, as Tarzan stares on, and you can see the guilt on his face as he tried to save him from his fate.
