10 Darkest Moments In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

6. Tony Watches Bucky Kill His Parents - Captain America: Civil War

Despite the almost non-existent amount of serious injuries or fatalities for a movie with 'war' in its title, Cap's third standalone flick did manage to bring the pain - albeit, emotional - in its final few moments.

As Cap and Bucky watch on silently, Tony's eyes stay riveted to the screen in front of him - a screen playing a CCTV tape of the night his parents died at the hands of the Winter Soldier.

The revelation that Bucky was the one who ended their lives was shocking in and of itself, without even considering the fact that Tony was literally watching his most painful memory come to life before his very eyes.

Civil War was packed with dark moments, including the death of T'Chaka and Zemo's attempted suicide, so the fact that this one was ten times as impactful as any of them speak volumes.

The dark lighting and visual grittiness of the CCTV footage sets a tone that wouldn't feel out of place in a found footage horror movie, and Tony's tortured expression almost makes you want to look away out of shame, like you're watching a deeply private moment that you shouldn't be allowed to see.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how Bucky and Tony handle their relationship going forward...
