10 DC Characters Who NEED Their Own Movie

Hawkgirl’s day in the sun seems to have passed, but she’s got fantastic potential which a big budget movie could unleash. Alongside Hawkman or on her own, this hawk is ready to rise from the ashes.

It’s not that Hawkgirl’s stock is rock bottom these days though. She’s had a limited role in the Arrowverse, but back in ‘00s she was a leading light in the Justice League and Justice League: Unlimited cartoons, which in turn led to more successful comic book sales.

While the animated version was based on the Silver Age Hawkgirl (Shayera Hol), it’s more likely that any movie would be built around the Kendra Saunders version of the character, as she has probably the most interesting arc on a human level.

Saunders commits suicide, but her body is saved by the soul of original Hawkgirl Shiera Hall via a walk-in. This basically means Saunders only succeeds in killing her soul, with Hall’s soul taking possession of her body.

Added to this, the soul retains a mix of Saunders and Hall’s memories, creating tension with Hawkman, who still loves Hall. Before you even get into the superhero stuff, it’s a fascinating story which deserves to be told.
