10 DC Comics Characters Dwayne Johnson Could Be Playing

Last week Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson sent out a teeny-tiny little tweet about a possible upcoming role, probably knowing full well that the fan reaction would be anything but teeny-tiny. Rather than just heaving the rumour mill another turn, we can speculate as to possible comics characters he could be playing using what we already know about the DC Cinematic Universe. You have to assume that Warner Brothers is focusing on expanding this universe, and not using a guy like The Rock for a one-time, unconnected superhero flick. So, if Johnson's tweet is in fact true, he will either a) appear in the as-of-yet-untitled Batman vs. Superman or b) appear in another as-of-yet-unannounced DC project. The former seems more likely at the moment, but who knows? Considering how little we actually know about DC's plans for their film universe, what follows truly should be labeled as nothing but speculation. That being said, Marvel has certainly set the bar high as far as interconnected film universes are concerned, and so DC will likely employ big-name contenders rather than obscure or unknown characters. And it can be pretty easy to rule out characters that The Rock is NOT playing, like Mr. Mxyzptlk (someone out there is saying "Wait! That's it!") or the Robin to Affleck's Batman. But depending on the ultimate confirmation of all of these rumors, a franchise-carrier like Johnson could be exactly what DC and WB need to kickstart their universe.
