10 DC Comics Movies That Almost Happened
7. Swamp Thing Reboot
Swamp Thing hasn't featured on the big screen since 1989, but he almost returned from the murky depths last decade when Joel Silver was hired to head up a reboot.
Silver doesn't have the best of luck with DC projects and this one also appears to have gone the same way as Sgt. Rock since there hasn't been an official update since 2009, the same year the revival was announced.
Little is known about Silver's plans for Alec Holland, other than the fact they would have been based on a screenplay from Akiva Goldsman and included ambitions to shoot the whole thing in 3D.
Although the project was probably long cancelled even before the DC Extended Universe had started to take shape, the announcement of Justice League Dark - which will include Swamp Thing on its roster - is no doubt the final nail in its coffin.
