10 DC Comics That Would Make Perfect Animated Films

2. Deathstroke: The Professional

Superman Kingdom Come
DC Comics

Deathstroke is one villain/anti-hero that never seems to run out of steam. Fans of DC never get tired of seeing him make an appearance. He’s so popular that he garnered a lot of praise in his recent Rebirth series. Which brings up an interesting idea.

It’s not like DC to adapt unproven work. The first volume of Deathstroke’s new series, The Professional, is still fresh in many fans minds. The success of the story is hard to estimate right now. All that being said, the risk is worth the payout.

There are few anti-heroes worthy of an animated film in DC’s canon. Deathstroke is one of those deserving of the honor. His recent run starts with a cat and mouse game filled with mystery and action. The tie-in to his family and past will make even the most prominent critic find a soft spot in their hearts for this mercenary.

Watching Slade Wilson transform into a main character was worth the investment. DC needs to see that and act fast to catch the trend while it’s still going.
