10 DC Heroes Who Deserve Movie Deals (And Who Should Play Them)

9. John Stewart - Daniel Kaluuya

Watching Sicario, it was obvious that British actor Daniel Kaluuya has some serious potential for super-stardom. He has the charisma to get your attention (even when sharing scenes with Emily Blunt), the dramatic chops to make you care about his character, and the comedic timing to raise a chuckle as well. In all honesty, I€™m surprised that no-one has cast him as a superhero yet. Warner Bros would be wise to recruit Kaluuya as soon as possible. He€™d be a fine fit for John Stewart, one of the most popular iterations of the Green Lantern in the world of comic book fandom. This could be the role to catapult Kaluuya to the next level of Hollywood fame. It€™s a meaty role, after all: John has a belligerent attitude towards authority, a dark history as a US Marine, and a fair amount of intelligence (he used to be an architect, as well). If DC can get John Stewart right, with the help of Kaluuya, they could finally have a Green Lantern film that isn€™t utter rubbish. And again, Kaluuya is quite young at 26 years of age. This would allow him to grow into the role over time, and to offer an entertaining youthful contrast to the likes of Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa. Make it so, DC!
