10 DC Movie Easter Eggs And Setups That Led Nowhere
3. The Riddler Graffiti - Batman V Superman
Like Man of Steel, Batman v Superman has comic book Easter eggs to spare and several crop up when the showdown between the Dark Knight and Kal-El comes to a head. In the abandoned building where Bats almost gets stabby with that Kryptonite spear, somebody has spraypainted fan-pleasing references all over the walls.
One of them is a question mark, but not just any question mark. This symbol will be very familiar to Bat fans as the calling card of The Riddler. Was this tag the handiwork of Edward Nygma himself, or was some petty criminal paying tribute to him?
There's no evidence to suggest the graffiti was intended to foreshadow the arrival of the puzzle-obsessed baddie in the DCEU, as he remains one of many classic Batman foes who is yet to make his debut in the cinematic universe.
In fact, Ed Nygma hasn't appeared on the big screen since Jim Carrey's parody of a performance in 1995's Batman Forever.
