10 DC Movie Easter Eggs And Setups That Led Nowhere
4. Brainiac's Logo - Man Of Steel
Zack Snyder's Man of Steel played host to more Easter eggs than a Cadbury factory during the spring months, and many of them were subtle, fan-pleasing and passed by in the blink of an eye. They have also lead absolutely nowhere so far.
Take the Brainiac logo that appeared on one of General Zod's ships, for instance. Eagle-eyed fans who spotted this will no doubt have hoped that it's an indication the villain will be showing up in a future DCEU movie, but five years later, he still hasn't.
Brainiac is easily one of the greatest comic book villains never to appear on the big screen. He's usually depicted as a humanoid alien with elements of AI and genius-level intellect. The cosmic bad guy is best known for shrinking cities down to pint-sized proportions and placing them in bottles, a trick he pulled on Krypton's Kandor.
Although the bad guy was originally depicted as coming from the planet Colu, writers who have tackled him more recently have given him a Kryptonian origin, so his connection to Zod's tech ties in with the latest developments in the comics.
Brainiac is among the frontrunners to serve as the big bad in Man of Steel 2, though as things stand, that logo on Zod's spacecraft has never been acknowledged by any of the subsequent DCEU films.
