10 DC Villains Who Need Their Own Standalone Film
2. Carmine Falcone
In a city where masked vigilantes and too many supervillains to count roam the streets, it would take someone special to keep hold of a massive criminal enterprise. That someone special is Carmine Falcone, who is the most well known of Gotham's mob bosses, and a look into the more grounded aspects of Gotham's underworld may be just what fans are after.
Joker already wore its Martin Scorcese influences on its sleeve, drawing many comparisons to Taxi Driver and The King of Comedy, and a Carmine Falcone film could instead be inspired by his mob films like Goodfellas. The tensions between Falcone and his rivals, the likes of Sal Moroni and Rupert Thorne, in the world of Gotham would put a refreshing spin on the mafia film.
Although Martin Scorcese has already voiced his discontent with the MCU, a film with potential like this may persuade Scorcese to dip his toe into the genre and make the real "cinema" that he claims the MCU is incapable of producing.
