10 DCEU Revelations From Zack Snyder

Snyder's original intention was for Justice League to be two-part film, and with each reveal he provides, it grows increasingly obvious that this first Justice League film was merely going to set the table for the feast that would have been the second film.

Snyder's own cut of Justice League was still to have revolved around Setppenwolf's quest for the Mother Boxes but it would have all been in-service of getting to the second film. As teased by the Kinghtmare sequence, Flash's warning, Snyder's own revelations about Superman and his falling to the Anti-Life Equation, Justice League 2 was set to see all of Snyder's Batman v. Superman set-up pay off in one form or another.

This was, undoubtedly, a big point of contention between Snyder and DC. Shortly after Batman v. Superman's release, the studio announced Justice League would simply be one film and sequel concerns would come later. They also wanted a much shorter and lighter story, as evidenced by the version that was ultimately released. Snyder, on the other hand, wanted to go longer (two films for one story) and darker (lots of death and destruction).

In changing the entire format of Snyder's envisioned two films, DC had taken away the end-goal that Snyder claims to have been building towards in the form of Justice League 2.
