10 Dead Characters Returning For Future Movie Sequels

How He Died

At the tail-end of Wonder Woman's triumphant solo movie, Steve Trevor provides Diana with the best indication of the fundamental goodness that humanity is capable of by sacrificing himself to destroy Doctor Poison's deadly gas. There's no way he survived being exploded at high altitude and probably gassed to death on top of that.

But Wait...

If he's dead, how come he's in the marketing for Wonder Woman 1984, looking like a whole slice of 80s heartthrob nostalgia with a side of serious sex appeal?

Will It Be Explained?

There's been some speculation that Trevor here is in fact an illusion, conjured by Wonder Woman's psyche as her mind fails to come to terms with his loss, even decades later. But then, why would he look older and why would he be dressed like a Top Gun character? Surely she'd remember him as he was?

Presumably, we're going to get some sort of twisty revelation of how he's back - if he legitimately is, that is - though don't rule out it not being the real Trevor.
