10 Deadliest Planets In Star Wars

7. Geonosis

Dry, mountainous, and stained red by the sunlight, the Outer Rim world of Geonosis was home to the creepy insectoid Geonosians as well as the first battle of the Clone Wars.

This ringed planet, separated from the rest of the system by treacherous asteroid fields, was once a Separatist stronghold. With its surface irradiated and littered with mesas, steep canyons and unforgiving crevasses, the Geonosian people lived underground in caves or hives.

Burrowed into the ground were Separatist Droid Factories producing weapons, Battle Droids, and Separatist artillery vehicles. Despite these insect natives seeming primitive, they were keen warmongers and adept at designing and manufacturing weaponry. It's no surprise that Geonosis was chosen as the site for the first Death Star's construction.

Also present on the planet's barren surface and web of caves were parasitic Brain Worms - capable of controlling hosts, including corpses - and various species left-over from gladiatorial battles at the Petranaki Arena. These included the reptilian Acklay, catlike Nexu, and horned Reek creatures. These aliens would battle to the death in the Petranaki Arena, alongside prisoners, for the Geonosians' entertainment.

You wouldn't want to find yourself at the mercy of the locals, this planet's intolerable climate, or its Arena.

Galactic Travel Advice: Not all fun and games. Leave the kids at home.
