10 Deadliest Planets In Star Wars

2. Coruscant

Exhibiting gleaming opera houses, towering skyscrapers, offices of government and grand palaces, you would be wrong in thinking that Coruscant was one of the most peaceful civilisations in the Galaxy.

Beneath the surface of Coruscant's planet-wide urban sprawl known as Galactic City, Coruscant was a much darker, grungier place. The Underworld, located in the sub-sections of the gleaming paradise, was home to more crime in the Galaxy than anywhere else.

Dilapidated industrial estates, warehouses and poverty-ridden alleyways were lodgings for pirates, smugglers, bounty hunters and rogue Sith. With hundreds of levels squeezed on top of one another and the most dangerous outlaws being pushed further and further into the dark, the Underworld was unpredictable and often impossible to police.

Following the outbreak of Galactic Civil War, the Overworld also began to fall into ruin. Repurposed to host mighty Imperial Palaces and barracks for the Empire's forces, the glowing metropolis quickly began to resemble its undercity. Those not loyal to the Emperor or unwanted alien species would be relocated to the Underworld, adding to the already low life expectancy, growing crime rates, and overpopulation.

With the Galaxy's worst criminals below, the Empire above, and no Jedi to keep the peace, Coruscant was far from a holiday destination.

Galactic Travel Advice: Stay out of the bad neighbourhoods.
