10 Delayed Movies That Will Land In 2021 And Still Bomb At The Box Office
4. Monster Hunter
When Paul W.S. Anderson isn't busy making terrible video game movies like Mortal Kombat or Resident Evil, he can generally be found making terrible movies in a variety of other genres like Alien vs. Predator, The Three Musketeers and Pompeii.
Resident Evil might be the highest-grossing video game franchise in history, but Anderson's upcoming Monster Hunter has an altogether more niche audience, and on the surface it seems like the kind of effects-heavy nonsense that could only be saved by a strong box office performance overseas.
It'll probably mark the latest Hollywood blockbuster to waste the incredible talents of Tony Jaa, while Milla Jovovich can play these kinds of roles in her sleep, and often does based on her recent track record. Monster Hunter was pushed back from September to April next year, and is now sandwiched on either side of Fast and Furious 9 and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, both of which will have the action and fantasy market covered for a long time.
