10 Deleted Scenes Cut From Quentin Tarantino Movies
1. O-Ren Ishii's 30-Minute Animated Backstory - Kill Bill Vol. 1
Fans are still waiting for Tarantino to release the much-discussed four-hour "Full Bloody Affair" cut of both Kill Bill movies, but perhaps the most interesting single omission from either film is a hugely extended version of O-Ren Ishii's (Lucy Liu) animated origin story in Volume 1.
In the final release, the gorgeous, anime-inspired scene lasts around 7 minutes, but Tarantino confirmed in a 2014 interview that a 30-minute version of the sequence actually exists.
Due to time constraints during production, Tarantino agreed to make a shorter version, but when word started doing the rounds that the director was interested in releasing The Full Bloody Affair, the Japanese animation studio behind the sequence completed the half-hour version out of their own pocket.
Considering how many fans would love to see this expanded scene, it's infuriating that it's just sitting on a server somewhere rather than being released, whether as a standalone streaming extra or part of the full-fat Kill Bill experience. Get it done, QT.
