The villains from the two most recent Muppets movies were called Tex Richman and Dominic Badguy. If they ever make a third one, expect there to be a protagonist called John Actuallyhitlerindisguise.

In the reboot film from 2011, Tex is a greedy oil tycoon who wants to buy up and close down the Muppets' theatre to get at the liquid gold that lies underneath it. This sounds like a pretty basic villain motivation, but a deleted scene adds another more human layer to Tex's scheme.

A large part of Tex's musical number Let's Talk About Me was left out of the final version of the film. In the extended cut, the magnate reveals that the Muppets were actually performers at his tenth birthday party.

Alas, Richman suffers from a condition that renders him unable to laugh, which the other kids ridiculed him for. On that day, he swore vengeance on all Muppetkind.

A film like this didn't need a more convoluted backstory for its antagonist, but it would have been nice to have a more fleshed out villain for our heroes to go up against.

Plus the full version of Let's Talk About Me slaps hard.
