10 Deleted Star Wars Movie Scenes You've Never Seen
9. Jerjerrod's Spotlight - Star Wars: Episode VI - Return Of The Jedi
One of the great things about Star Wars is how rich its world feels. Every background character or seemingly insignificant extra has a story to tell, making the galaxy far, far away feel like a living, breathing habitat.
Unfortunately, there isn't enough time in the movies to full flesh all of these characters out. One member of the Empire who receives a fair amount of screentime, though, is Moff Jerjerrod, the commander of the Second Death Star in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi.
He makes a handful of appearances in the theatrical cut, usually to scald some workers or get scalded by Darth Vader, but there were plans to give him more to do.
In a few deleted scenes, Jerjerrod is nearly choked to death by Vader for denying him access to the Emperor, and is then ordered by Palpatine to destroy the Endor moon using the Death Star should the shield generator go down, despite there being several Imperial battalions stationed there.
The scenes show that the space station came perilously close to firing, which would have added some serious drama to what was already a tense final sequence.
