10 Depressing Things About Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice
9. It's The Snyder Train From Here On Out
Director Zack Snyder is locked in to direct not only Batman v Superman, but also the Justice League movie that Warners hopes to release as a sequel and unite all of their newly cinema-tised heroes, Avengers-style. Hooray. While the filmmaker undoubtedly has both fans and detractors, this isn't meant as a criticism of his storytelling abilites (for once) but rather disappointment that DC isn't letting any other filmmaker play in their sandbox to see if they can't do something different or - heaven forbid - better with the characters. It's a ham-fisted metaphor, but it would be like Jon Favreau directing every MCU movie up to and including The Avengers...if Avengers was rushed into production after a handful of films in which Cap and Iron Man beat each other up in one of the other's sequels. What we're saying is that nobody wants the same thing over and over again, especially if you're trying to do radically different things with each installment of a franchise.
