8. It Strikes The Dark Knight Trilogy From The Canon

Nolan fans, weep. Man of Steel is officially the first and so far only entry into the canon of the DC Cinematic Universe, with BvS about to become the second in 2016. This means that Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy - despite the filmmaker having production credits on both of the new Superman films - have been struck from the annals of DC movie history. Because that was a set of films that really needed sweeping under the rug, amirite? Now, you could argue that this makes perfect sense after the end of The Dark Knight Rises, but we all know that Batman Never Quits, so Affleck's Bruce Wayne could have easily fit into the new continuity without too much fuss. So why go to the trouble to wipe the slate clean? Our guess would be that things are about to get even bleaker than when Nolan was pulling the strings...
