10 Despicable Movie Villains From The Last Decade We All Loved To Hate

5. Captain Vidal €“ Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

''If you can count to three without st-st-uttering you can go.''
Played By: Sergi Lopez The Villain: Captain Vidal is step-father to Ofelia, protagonist in Guillermo Del Toro's dark fairy tale, and a member of General Franco's Falangist army (Spanish fascists essentially). His orders? Root out any anti-Franco rebels and, it would seem, be a thoroughly despicable son of a gun doing it. One of the most evil and unlikable characters seen in the history of the cinema, Vidal brutally tortures and murders those he suspects of being rebels without evidence. He also kills a doctor who showed mercy to his prisoners. When he's on-screen you actually want to 'boo' out loud. Most Despicable Moment: Trying to complete her quest and gain entry to the Underworld, Ofelia takes her baby brother into the Labyrinth but is pursued by Vidal. When he catches up with her and takes his son back he shoots little Ofelia without remorse, leaving her to die alone. On his way back home with the baby the rebels capture him and audiences are treated to a little retribution; he hands them his baby asking that his son be told what time he died. The rebels reply he won't even know his name...then proceed to shoot him in the face.
